The Brisbane Blue Tongues have made a move after losing veteran goaltender Milan Novysedlak by signing former New York Islanders draft pick Tyrone Garner for the upcoming season.
The veteran 29-year-old goaltender was taken 83rd overall by the Islanders in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, and spent his junior career with the Oshawa Generals in the OHL. Garner made his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames during the 1998-99 season and played three games with the club.
Since then Garner has played all around the minor-pro scene in North America and has also spent time playing in Germany. Garner will solidify the crease for the Blue Tongues and also provide a stable influence for talented goaltending prospect Brenton Cooney.
