DIGITAL “SMOKE AND MIRRORS” Review Digital movies are usually pretty damn good, lots of crazy shit goes down, I think usually due to the fact that they feature young skateboarders on the come up. This latest offering, “SMOKE AND MIRRORS” comes at you in the same vein. My picks of the vid are of course Kurt Winter….countyman, nice lad and amazing skater. His last couple of tricks are out of control….settle down young mate, you’re making us feel bad, but good at the same time. The other top pick is Cody McEntire. I remember reading in a mag that this kid wants to break it off hard to get ahead…..he stays true to his word in this part…little man, big balls. Another issue is that of Tommy Sandoval’s part. His part has been touted as throw away footage….granted, this part does not feature his usual ZERO style hammers, but is shows another side to his skating, a side that I think should be appreciated. Last but not least, Sunny Coast local Kristen Famularo has a trick in the montage…good on you son, it’s worth it just for that.  |
