Easton Hockey has long been a leading supplier and manufacturer of quality hockey equipment for players at all levels. They are the designer and manufacturer of the No. 1 stick and glove in the NHL, and now, they are hoping to become a leader in the always-competitive hockey helmet market.

Easton Hockey has introduced the Stealth helmet, its initial introduction into the helmet category. The all-new line, made up of the S17 and S9, is among the biggest product introductions in Easton Hockey's history, according to Ned Goldsmith, vice president of Easton Hockey.

"The helmet category is one of the only areas Easton didn't participate in and the new helmets truly round out our entire product line," says Goldsmith. "We didn't want to come to market with just any helmet. We wanted a superior design, style, comfort, durability and of course protection. We wouldn't settle for anything less. The S17 and S9 are going to make an immediate impact."

Chris Norqual, Easton Hockey's Product Manager, helmets, said there are currently 30 NHL players wearing the S-9, including Danny Heatley of the Ottawa Senators and Henrik Zetterberg of the Detroit Red Wings. Two collegiate hockey teams - Amherst College of Amherst, Massachusetts, and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, are also wearing the helmets this season.

Easton Sports (www.eastonsports.com), headquartered in Van Nuys, Calif., recently combined forces with leading helmet manufacturer Riddell Bell, which helped the company get into the helmet manufacturing side of equipment.

The Stealth S17 is the flagship of the line and features a variety of innovations and technological advancements. Helmet features include the MonoLockTM Sizing System, which is a tool-less sizing feature that keeps the bulk off the sides of the helmet and utilizes a "player-friendly" lever on the back. The InFormTM Fit System, created by Easton's action sports sister company GIRO, will be the best-fitting, easiest to operate micro-adjustment fit-band in hockey, company officials said. It is designed to surround the head comfortably and securely and features an easy to use height adjustable ear pieces. In addition, independent temple foams have a lower density for increased comfort and built in screws to make it easy to access hardware.

The Stealth S9 maintains all the style, comfort and durability of the S17, but is a lighter, more simplified helmet. It features a dual-density Vinyl Nitrite liner and a superior ventilation system. Easton reps say the S-9 provides comfort and a low-profile fit unlike any helmet on the market. It also features single screw size adjustment and height adjustable ear pieces for easy customizing.

Norqual said the key to this helmet was the amount of time spent in research and development (R&D).

"Of any product we make, the most R&D time goes into the helmet," says Norqual. "It's really the most important product, protection wise, and people take it for granted. You really need to think about protecting your head."

Goldsmith agreed.

"The result is stellar and players will notice right away," he said. "The new technologies and design will make for the best comfort, fit, protection, and style on the market."

To see for yourself the quality of this helmet Skatebiz now has this helmet in stock.

Thank you,

Kirk.
