As another year rolls around the back alleys of brisbane are brimming with
anticipation and rollerbladers around country are strapping on their skates,
waiting for word of the next installment of Australia's largest real street
comp- RIGHT 2 ROLL.
The Right 2 Roll street comp is in its fifth year, and remains one of the
very few rollerblading competitions in Australia. Over the past 4 years,
skaters from all over the country have travelled to Brisbane to compete in
front of a crowd of hundreds.
Organised and funded by Velvet Couch Clothing, the Right 2 Roll competition
is setting the standard for real street comps in Australia, with $700 cash
currently raised for prizes. The competition involves a jam at 4 consecutive
spots in Brisbane city. Anyone is free to skate, and competitors range from
the amateur to professional. Entrants from past years have furthered their
careers, some are now even sponsored by Velvet Couch!
The Right 2 Roll comp offers a great day for spectators and skaters alike,
and often pedestrians will stop and watch the show in amazement. It is
undeniable that the competition plays an important part in the strengh and
exposure of the rollerblading industry.
Competitions such as this rely on industry support, and every little bit
helps. The day will be professionally filmed and an edit will be available
shortly after.
