Hello! My name is Rudi Minelle and some of you might know that I am currently living in Oslo, Norway. Anyways my girlfriend here was reading some architectural magazines and came across a skatepark here in Norway at a small town about 20mins north of Oslo called Bekkestua. It’s a cool looking building and is basically a youth centre with heaps of features and a super rad outdoor and indoor park. The indoor park seems to of taken some inspiration from some of the Tampa setups from the past and is real fun and flows well. Not only is there a park indoor but also a skateshop, computer room with free internet, a subway restaurant and a games room with a projector TV.

In a country that gets a lot of rain and a lot of snow in winter the indoor set is a necessity but for the summer days there is also a outdoor park with a full street setup, flatbanks and a spined mini ramp.

We went there and were lucky enough to catch the finals of a Norwegian national skatecomp. Some of the skating that went down blew me away, especially some of the juniors. Im not sure of there names but some of the these little Viking tackers were throwing down crazy stuff on the flat rail in the indoor setup, kickflip front feebs down the rail, switch fs feebs, nollie heel boards and fs bigspin boardslids were just some of the hammers I saw. The seniors though were incredible, guys like
Henning Braaten who you might of heard of as he know on the DC global team were killing it. Check this video clip to see the action from the finals with Henning and Gustav Tønnesen http://www.tackyworld.com/skateboard/videos/vis_video.asp?id=61690

The skate scene here is more than healthy and even though its been a wet summer it wont stop these crazy Scando kids from picking up there boards and shredding, I cant wait to properly skate the park myself when it aint so crowded with rippers.

Check out the pics below!
Peace!
